A beautiful marbled German cake that's simple to make and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

butter, flour, sugar, eggs, milk, salt, vanilla extract, baking powder, cacao powder

  • 250 g soft butter (plus extra for greasing)
  • 250 g flour
  • 150 g sugar
  • 4 pieces eggs (room temperature)
  • 25 ml milk
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 drops vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 Tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 splash milk (additional for cacao mixture)
  • to dust powdered sugar Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 180°C and grease the Bundt form.
  • Beat butter, vanilla, and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then sift in flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly.
  • Add milk and mix. Divide batter; mix cacao and extra milk into one part.
  • Pour plain batter into the form, then add cacao batter on top. Use a fork to create a marbled effect.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, cool, then dust with powdered sugar.

Notes

Ensure the cake is fully cooled before dusting with powdered sugar for best presentation.
